Summer Schedule of Activities

WeUpstream1.jpg (23860 bytes) have a lot of fun at Renfrew Camping.  The river is perfect for kids to find out about minnows, frogs, and other freshwater small fry.  The stars of the river are the turtles, which always attract a crowd when they make an appearance.

Looneydv1.jpg (17076 bytes)    If you are a fresh water person, there is a decent swimming hole just a short walk from the campground.  Swim with the fishes!

As well, Santa Claus makes an annual summer appearance, in Christmas in July. No child wants to miss Santa, no matter how hot it is!

         Hayride1.jpg (58717 bytes)

The hayride has been a staple for many years, and remains as popular as ever.  Tom Leighton knew he had hit upon a sure crowd pleaser the very first time he ran one.  Four generations of hayride passengers and counting!

Play horseshoes?  Like a challenge?   Weekends at Renfrew Camping is the place for you as there is always a tournament going on Saturday afternoons, and the regulars are always on the lookout for fresh chuckers.  Come on and join in!

Or maybe bingo is your cup of tea.  No problem, because you can always count on at one bingo game per weekend, sometimes two.  If you feel lucky, it's a great way to top up the weekend.

Everyone likes to see Mother Nature in her glory when they go camping.  We at Renfrew Camping are blessed because we directly border the largest unspoiled acreage in Hants County, a block of Crown land measuring 1200 acres.  It isn't uncommon to see deer in the early morning, or later after dark.  Canada's national symbol, the beaver is alive and busy in the waters running through our campground. Muskrats can be seen if you are quiet and eagles and hawks sometimes circle the sky above.  Songbirds too many to name turn the early misty summer mornings into symphony halls, and kingfishers work the river for their daily meals.  And when the Canada geese begin their training flights, everyone can't help but notice for the honking! Of course,  the animals of the forest, river and sky are wild, and don't parade themselves on cue, but if you love nature and God's creatures, we have a jewel here and you won't be disappointed.  But here's a hint.  Naturally, wild animals shy away from crowds, and we  usually have more campers on weekends, so if nature is your reason to camp, try us during the week.  It's very peaceful.
